Heavy Downpour Causes Flooding in Jakarta

Floodwaters of more than one meter deep were flowing through the streets of Indonesia's capital of Jakarta after ten hours of torrential rains on Thursday February 13, 2003. More than 40,000 people were forced to flee their homes.

The rain accumulation in the image above was created using data from NASA's Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission (TRMM) satellite combined with data from other rain measuring satellites.
