TYPHOON MAN-YI HEADS TOWARD JAPAN
 Link to images of typhoon man-yi 2007 story The image on the right was made from data captured by the TRMM satellite over the western Pacific Ocean on July 10, 2007 at 1944UTC after tropical storm MAN-YI became a typhoon. Typhoon MAN-YI was headed toward Japan when those data used for this image were received. The image inset on the lower right was made using TRMM Precipitation Radar data captured at the same time and shows the 3-D vertical structure of the storm. The range of colors in the inset shows the height and intensity of features in the storm. One thunderstorm tower near the center of the strengthening typhoon was about 17km high.
