TROPICAL CYCLONE YEMYIN (03B) HITS PAKISTAN
The image on the right was made from data captured by the TRMM satellite on
June 26, 2007 at 0921UTC as tropical cyclone YEMYIN (03B) was laying waste to
southern Pakistan. YEMYIN roared in from the Arabian sea on Pakistan's
southern border tuesday causing several deaths and serious damage to roads and
bridges. The image inset on the lower right was made using TRMM Precipitation Radar data captured at the same time and shows the 3-D vertical structure of the storm. The range of colors in the inset shows the height and intensity of features in the storm. One powerful thunderstorm off the southwestern coast of Pakistan was over 17km high.
